Angela Myles Beeching

Fascinated by career paths and life choices, Angela Myles Beeching is committed to helping musicians build their own paths to success through short-term individual coaching, connections to resources, and strategic action planning.

Trained as a cellist, Ms. Beeching is an unexpected author. Challenged with finding appropriate career information for the musicians she was advising, she ended up writing the book to fit the need. Published by Oxford University Press, Beyond Talent quickly became a favorite among classical and jazz musicians and has been used widely as text at scores of conservatories and universities. The recently released expanded new edition of Beyond Talent offers key advice and assistance with entrepreneurial projects, online fundraising, social media, and audience development, along with dozens of artist profiles, quotes, and tips.

A leader in the field of music career development, Ms. Beeching has directed the Career Services Center at New England Conservatory and has served as visiting consultant to the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. A Fulbright Scholar and Harriet Hale Woolley grant recipient, Ms. Beeching holds a doctorate in cello performance from SUNY Stony Brook.

In demand as a consultant and speaker, Angela has led workshops at Eastman, Peabody, Colburn, and Oberlin Conservatories. She has also been guest speaker at conferences for the National Association of Schools of Music, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, Chamber Music America, and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. Ms. Beeching’s articles have appeared in Inside Arts, Classical Singer, and Chamber Music magazines. She has a thriving independent advising and consulting practice, Beyond Talent Consulting.
