James Thompson

Tuesday, August 12th, 2014

james_thompsonWe’re very sorry to tell you that acclaimed noir author and ARLA client James Thompson has died. Even though his work was extremely dark, by examining the bleakest aspects of society, he aimed to give a voice to the voiceless and make the world a brighter place. He will be missed.

The obituary from Putnam, his US publisher, is after the jump.  (more…)

Today is the publication day of GOING DARK, which reviewers call “both thoughtful and white-knuckle tense” and “a fine thriller on every level.” Jim is not only a notable addition to ARLA’s list, but a great guy — funny and brilliant. Introducing Dennis Lehane Books

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Friday Night Rights

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

It’s been an exciting week here at ARLA! Not only did we make it to the London Book Fair unscathed by volcanic ash, we also signed Dennis Lehane with a new UK publishing team!

There were several worthy competitors, but ultimately David Shelley of Little, Brown was the victor. He scored a two-book deal for Moonlight Mile, Lehane’s final Patrick and Angie novel, and the as yet untitled sequel to The Given Day.

We’d like to thank Sarah Nundy of Andrew Nurnberg Associates for running point on this one!
