Michael Zarocostas

Michael Zarocostas’s writing has been honored at several prestigious competitions, including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship, the Chesterfield Writers Project, Austin Heart of Film, and the Rupert Hughes Prose Writing Competition.

Michael has an architecture degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Kentucky.  After interning at the U.S. Attorneys Office, he clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals, receiving a Distinguished Service Award.  He is a practicing attorney in New York and California and lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two rescued cats, Vito and Luca.

Michael’s maternal grandfather left the “family business” in the Old Country for a better life in America.  Michael is half-Sicilian and half-Greek, which means he extorts money from himself while running a diner.
