This Is A Roundup Of Great Reviews!

Kerri Majors This Is Not A Writing ManualWe were thrilled to see THIS IS NOT A WRITING MANUAL featured in the Boston Globe this weekend! They say that Kerri Majors “manages to combine the best of two publishing genres — memoir and advice — in a highly readable book.” Look after the jump for more great reviews and interviews with Kerri!

Horn Book’s Out of the Box blog says, “I applaud her candor in sharing both the highs and lows of her writing career so far. Of course, Majors’ views offer one perspective and are unique to her life, but what might be most helpful about her book is her inclusion of topics aspiring young writers might not otherwise consider.”

“A realistic look at the life of a writer told in accessible, anecdotal prose makes This Is Not A Writing Manual a solid tool in any new writer’s belt,” declares Young Adult Books Central

THIS IS NOT A WRITING MANUAL was featured in Examiner.com’s roundup of hot new YA releases. We were also delighted to see that Quirk Books listed it as one of their favorite books on writing, alongside the classics Bird By Bird and On Writing!

Kerri tells Writer’s Digest how she found her agent. (Spoiler: it was by working hard and being a complete delight!) She also speaks with fellow author Terra Elan McVoy about coping with that envy you feel when friends are published before you and what guilty pleasures are helping her writing!

Kerri continues to guest blog over at Polyphony HS, telling young writers to play with their words and ditch the black turtleneck!
