All of those starred reviews should have been a clue, but we have to admit that we were absolutely stunned at the number of awards that Edward J. Delaney’s BROKEN IRISH won!
Not only was BROKEN IRISH the New England Book Festival Grand Prize Winner and the winner of the Booklist Editor’s Choice Award, USA Today, The Morning News, and Michael Patrick Brady of The Boston Globe also named the book as one of the best of 2011!
Congratulations, Ted!
We’re utterly delighted to tell you that C.J. Box has made another year-end best-of list! The Seattle Times chose BACK OF BEYOND as one of 2011’s best mysteries, saying, “Wyoming native Box is a gripping writer and a shrewd observer of his state’s rugged wilderness.”
Laura Whitcomb’s A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT is in some very fine company on Stylist’s list of the 100 best opening lines from books!
We were thrilled when Kirkus named BACK OF BEYOND one of the best books of the year — and now we’re doubly thrilled to tell you that another C.J. Box title has made someone’s best-book list!
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has chosen COLD WIND as one of their favorites for 2011! Check out the full list here.
When coming up with their list of the best books of 2011, the editor at Kirkus said, “We singled out the books we loved reading most, the ones we would recommend to friends,” so we’re delighted that they included BACK OF BEYOND by C.J. Box! (Now go add it to your list!)

Ridiculously awesome, that is! Forgive us for bragging, but we’re very excited to tell you that THE POACHER’S SON has been nominated for its eighth award! Deadly Ink has nominated Paul Doiron’s debut for a David Award for Best Mystery!
In other exciting Doiron news, Indie Bound chose TRESPASSER, the forthcoming follow-up to THE POACHER’S SON, for their July 2011 Indie Next List, with a quote from bookseller Vicki Erwin of Main Street Books in Missouri declaring, “Doiron is an author to watch!”
More praise for TRESPASSER after the jump!
